Homemade Crunchy Garlic Bread Recipe at The Little Shop of Olive Oils

Homemade Crunchy Garlic Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf of French or Italian bread
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil (EVOO)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Extra virgin olive oil for drizzling

Instructions:

  • In a small bowl, combine the extra virgin olive oil, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Slice the loaf of bread in half lengthwise to create two long halves.
  • Spread the garlic and EVOO mixture evenly over both halves of the bread.
  • If using, sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the garlic-oiled bread for an extra layer of flavor.
  • Place the bread halves on a baking sheet, cut side up.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges start to turn golden brown and the oil is soaked into the bread.
  • For an extra crispy top, switch the oven to broil for the last 1-2 minutes, but watch closely to prevent burning.
  • Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool for a minute.
  • Slice the bread into individual pieces
  • Drizzle a little extra virgin olive oil over the top for added richness.
Serve the homemade crunchy garlic bread warm alongside your favorite pasta dishes, soups, or salads.
